About us

Inspire to Sign was founded by Afifah Hussain, a deaf trainer with years of experience in delivering high-quality deaf awareness training. Our aim is to train as many people as possible in deaf awareness to promote inclusion and break down barriers.

Afifah Hussain was born deaf and has encountered many barriers due to her deafness throughout her academic and professional life. Having spent years delivering high qualify deaf awareness training and after seeing the demand following Rose Ayling-Ellis's Strictly success she decided to set up Inspire to Sign in 2022.

Our aim is to promote inclusion, deaf awareness and to break down barriers. Inspire to Sign wants to train as many people as possible in deaf awareness so that more people are able to confidently communicate and interact with the deaf community.

"This course has given me so much more confidence and knowledge about how to communicate with the deaf community."

"I only ever thought about deaf people as people who couldn't hear and thought about the barriers they face, now I realise that they can do everything except hear."
